Hi! I’m Taylor Lee, a therapist in New York and a PhD student focused on psychology, cognition, and intelligence. A fancy way of saying—I love learning about the brain and how it works.
Long before any of that, I was just a fantasy romance author, exploring the complexity of relationships through stories.
I got my start in 2020 editing fiction for a small company and wrote my first series in 2021. Things pretty much went to hell from there though... Turns out, there are sharks in the publishing world, and I got bit. But it won’t drag me down.
I've shifted my focus from fantasy to realistic fiction and research analysis. My work centers on the grim reality of substance users cycling through New York’s county-level criminal justice systems. When bail laws changed in 2019, I noticed overdose risk and recidivism increased. People are losing their lives. Through a neuroscience lens, I see a system failing to support people in active addiction. My goal is to highlight these flaws—through story and research—to advocate for change.
